A Boston area native, ﬂutist Shauna Barravecchio received her Bachelor of Music degree in Performance with High Distinction from McGill University in 2007, studying with Carolyn Christie and performing with the McGill Symphony and Contemporary Music Ensemble. While in Canada, she also performed as Substitute Principal Flute with Symphony New Brunswick and as solo piccolo with the Orchestre Symphonique des Jeunes de Montreal. A former member of the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble at NEC, she currently also plays with the Charles River Wind Ensemble.
After her undergraduate studies, Shauna changed her focus from performing to sound recording, completing coursework at McGill and frequently recording student performances. She has also held an internship with Soundmirror, Inc., assisting with archival recordings of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Sound Recording Technology at the University of Massachusetts - Lowell.
