Stavroula Hatzios is a post-doctoral fellow studying infectious diseases at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an oboist with several community orchestras. She graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a minor in music. She received a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2010. Stavroula has performed extensively with several chamber music and orchestral ensembles at MIT and Harvard University, including the MIT Symphony Orchestra and Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra. She has also performed with the University Symphony Orchestra of UC Berkeley, Bay Area Classical Harmonies, the New River Valley Symphony, and the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. She currently performs with the Brookline Symphony, Longwood Symphony, and Mercury Symphony Orchestras. Her teachers include John Ferrillo, Barbara LaFitte, Robert Sorton, and Margo Easter.
