Georgia Kuss, trumpet

Although her photograph is misleading, Georgia is a trumpet player in the Brookline Symphony Orchestra. An Indiana native, Georgia has a bachelor of arts degree in psychology (and a minor in studio art) from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. She works at Children's Hospital Boston doing quality improvement research for the Psychiatry department. Georgia has played the trumpet since 1998. She has competed on a national level with the Lawrence Central High School marching band, and she has marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. During her four years at Kenyon, Georgia played recreationally as principal trumpet in the Knox County Symphony and as a member of the campus Motown band, "Detroit Groove." Georgia has been looking for a group to play with since moving to Boston in June, 2010, and she's very excited to have found the BSO! Her other hobbies include photography, hiking, exploring New England, eating chocolate, and teaching herself the acoustic folk guitar.
