Georgia Luikens, violin

Georgia Luikens was born in Sydney, Australia, educated at SCEGGS Darlinghurst, and holds undergraduate degrees in Music (with first class honors) and English Literature from the University of New South Wales. She is in her final year of the PhD Musicology Program at Brandeis University where she held the Harry & Mildred Remis Fellowship for five years. Georgia has been a member of various orchestras and ensembles including the Sydney Youth Orchestra, Penn State Philharmonic and Brandeis-Wellesley Orchestra, Boston Unhinged Players and Fine Society Ensemble. She has also played in the pit for a number of Metro-West Opera productions. Between 2000-2008 Georgia played in over 30 musicals and operas in Sydney and was the violinist in The Cavendish Trio from 2005-2008. Prior to relocating to the US in mid 2008, Georgia also sang with the award winning Sydneian Bach Choir.
