Alexandra Panov, violin

Alexandra began playing violin at the age of nine through the local elementary school in her hometown, Nyack, New York. She continued to play through her school years in various orchestras, including All-County, Area-All State, and the New York All State String and Symphony Orchestras. Her primary teacher has been Olga Dusheina-Dougherty, an old member of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. In 2012, she won gold for the Young People’s Auditions, enabling her to play Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with the Rockland Symphony Orchestra. She is currently an undergraduate student at MIT.
