Alexandra Panov, violin

Alexandra began playing violin at age 8 in Nyack, New York under the tutelage of Olga Dusheina Dougherty of the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. In high school, she attended the New York All-State Conference and was ranked in the top 15 violinists in New York state. In 2012, she won the Young People's Auditions and performed Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto with the Rockland Symphony Orchestra. Alexandra matriculated to MIT and performed in a string quartet with the Chamber Music Society for all 4 years. She performed as an Emerson Scholar for 2 years, studying under Valeria Vilker-Kuchment of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Alexandra graduated MIT in June 2017 with degrees in Chemistry and Biology and now works in proteomic research. She continues studies with Valeria.
