Team Brookline, the Town of Brookline’s official Boston Marathon team, is a committed group of adult runners who train together for the Boston Marathon while raising funds and awareness for five partner charities that play an integral role in strengthening and enriching our community: Brookline Community Mental Health Center, Brookline Education Foundation, Brookline Library Foundation, Brookline Symphony Orchestra, and Brookline Teen Center.
Thank you to the amazing individuals who are running for our orchestra. Please support them and Team Brookline for the wonderful work they do.
Graciela Briceno is excited to be running the 2019 Boston Marathon in support of the Brookline Symphony Orchestra. She has been a Brookline resident on/off for 12 years and a member of the orchestra's viola section since 2012. Graciela started running in 2015, when a friend convinced her to run the Cambridge Super Bowl 5K on a chilly Sunday morning. When not running or playing viola, Graciela can be found at the library, hitting the books for her International Education degree program at Harvard, or at home baking cupcakes. This will be her first full marathon.

Holly Salter grew up running track and field, completing her first marathon in 2009. She’s also competed in a number of triathlons, including Ironman Mont-Tremblant. Having lived in Brighton for six years, she’s run nearly every street in town (Beacon Street being her favorite). One of her best friends, Rachael Comunale, is a violinist in the orchestra, and she convinced Holly to lace up her shoes and train for another marathon—in the winter!
Di Wu played violin in the Brookline Symphony Orchestra from 2014 to 2018. She graduated from Northeastern University with her Ph.D in Chemistry in 2018, and lived in Brookline. She is excited to run the Boston Marathon as a member of Team Brookline. She has run the BAA 5k, 10k and half marathon and has run Boston Run to Remember. Boston is the best city for her favorite actIvites: scientific research, music, and sports. This will be her first full marathon.
