What to Expect When Attending a Brookline Symphony Orchestra Concert

  • We perform in the auditorium of the new Driscoll School: 725 Washington St, Brookline, MA 02446.

    • Enter through the building’s main entrance, and you will be greeted by our ticket desk. Ushers can then show you to the auditorium seating.

    • Information on parking and public transportation options can be found here: Parking and Accessibility

  • Doors to the auditorium usually open to the audience about 30 minutes prior to the show’s start time. We recommend you arrive early in order to find parking, check in at the ticket desk, and find a seat.

    • If you’re late, you’ll be allowed in at a suitable break in the program.

    • We would prefer you to stay and enjoy the entire show, but if you need to leave before the end of the performance, please try to exit quietly in between pieces without disturbing your neighbors.

  • Most concert are roughly 90 minutes long, and include a short intermission.

  • There is no dress code for our concerts. Wear whatever makes you comfortable!

  • Please silence all cell phones and other devices before the show begins, and refrain from using them for the duration of the performance.

  • Please respect the musicians, the conductor, and the people sitting near you by not talking while the orchestra plays.

  • Generally, hold your applause until the end of each piece, rather than after each section or pause. But, if you accidentally clap mid-piece? No big deal. We’ll take it as enthusiasm!
